This past weekend, our Executive Director, Laurie Gift, attended CrimeCon in Denver, a national gathering where thousands of true crime enthusiasts, creators, and advocates come together to explore the many sides of crime storytelling.

Laurie connected with our Partner, the National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC), who hosted a booth at the event. NCVC is dedicated to elevating victims’ voices and ensuring that the stories told in true crime media are handled with care, dignity, and respect. Their work includes developing ethical storytelling guidelines, providing training for creators, and creating resources that keep victims and families at the heart of every narrative.

At the MrBallen Foundation, we’re proud to stand alongside NCVC in this effort. By supporting their mission, we’re helping to shape a future where true crime media not only informs but also honors those most impacted.
